If you are VAT-registered in another EU country because you sell to non-VAT-registered customers in that country, you will need to create a Member Country VAT Record which holds your company's VAT ID number in the EU country you are trading with.
For example, if your company is based in the UK but you are registered for VAT in the Republic of Ireland because you sell to customers there, you will need to create a Member Country VAT Record for the Republic of Ireland.
Member Country VAT Records, in conjunction with Product By Member Country Records, are used by the system to determine the VAT rate payable by the customer in the country you are trading with.

To create a Member Country VAT Record:

2. Enter/select details for the Member Country VAT Record as follows:

Select a Member Country from the drop-down menu; e.g. Austria, Ireland, Luxembourg.
For example, if you will be trading in the Republic of Ireland, select 'Ireland'.

VAT Prefix
|
For the selected country, select a VAT Prefix (a prefix for the VAT Number) from the drop-down menu - e.g. AT, IE, LU.
For example, if your company is based in the UK and you are creating a Member Country VAT Record for the Republic of Ireland, select 'IE'.

VAT Number
|
Enter your VAT number registered in the country you are creating a record for. For example, if you are registered in the Republic of Ireland for VAT purposes, enter your VAT number as registered in that country.
You must use the required VAT Number Structure. See EU Member Country VAT Number Structures below.

Threshold Currency *
|
Select the Currency used in the Member Country from the drop-down menu; e.g. Euro.

3. When you have completed the fields as required, select Save from the Toolbar - Sub Menu to save the new record.
Saved Member Country VAT Records will display in the Finder. See Finding Member Country VAT Records.
4. You may create further Member Country VAT Records for other countries as necessary.
