Quantum VS Help: System Administration |
Table files are files containing data used to populate certain menus within Quantum VS. Table files represent an efficient means of handling data referenced by the various modules of Quantum VS, as System Administrators need only input the information once, and not on multiple occasions for each module requiring that information.
In order to configure Quantum VS for your business and make maximum use of the application you will need to configure a small number of table files using Table File Maintenance, as described here.
For a list of table files you may need to edit, see the List Of Table Files For User Editing.
Elsewhere in this Help, guidance is given as to which table files you will need to configure, and when.
Configuring a table file involves adding - and in certain cases deleting and/or amending - table file values for your business. For example, you will need to set up Product Group values so that the products you create can each be assigned to a Product Group. Product Group values are set up and maintained in the table file P (Product Groups).
See Finding Table Files for details on locating and opening table files. See Adding, Editing And Deleting Table File Values to understand how to set up, amend and delete table file values.
You also have the ability to create new table files should the need arise.
Note: Instances where you may be required to set up and/or amend table file values are highlighted in the appropriate chapters within this Help documentation. Do not amend any table files unless instructed to do so either by this Help documentation or by Quantum VS Professional Services.
