The Balance History tab gives a breakdown of the selected customer's account balance history, showing their current Balance, values outstanding for this customer at each month end, overdue and unapplied amounts, and more.
To view a customer's balance history:
1. Find and open the Customer record for the required customer. See Finding Customers.
2. Click the Balance History tab:
A summary of the customer's balance history is displayed. If there is more than one page of Balance History you may use the arrow keys to scroll forwards and backwards through the available pages.
Balance History details are grouped into the following columns:
Balance: Shows the total value outstanding for this customer at each month end (1 Month Ago, 2 Months Ago etc.).
Each Period End Date, Year and Period number are shown.
Current / 30 Day / 60 Day / 90 Day: Gives a breakdown showing how long amounts have been outstanding for; i.e. amounts outstanding in the Current month (i.e. 0 to 30 days from the beginning of the monthly period), and in the preceding three 30-day accounting periods (i.e. 30-60 days, 60-90 days and 90-120 days from the beginning of the monthly period).
Unapplied: Shows any amounts unmatched to an existing invoice.
Overdue: Shows the total amount overdue. For example, on an account with 30 days terms any 60 Day and 90 Day balances will appear in the Overdue column.
No.: Shows how many items make up the overdue amount.
Ave.: Shows the average number of days the account has been overdue.
Note: The information displayed in this tab is read-only. The data comes from running the Price Book Period End process.
