Enabling Forward Ordering In Quantum VS

The following User Permissions may be used to enable (or disable) features relating to Forward Ordering:

User Permission

Definition

Sales Desk > Forward Orders:

Add Forward Order Lines

Enabling this User Permission means the User may add Forward Order lines on a Sales Order. See Sales Orders: Adding Forward Order Lines.

Amend Forward Order Lines

Enabling this User Permission means the User may amend Forward Order lines on a Sales Order. See Editing Forward Order Lines.

Default Line To Normal Order

If this User Permission is on, Product lines entered by the User on the Sales Order will default to being Normal lines (i.e. free stock is allocated to the order line - if available - on Sales Order Completion) - see Entering Product Line Details. However, the user (if the Add Forward Order Lines permission - see above - is enabled) may optionally add a 'Forward' Product line by clicking the 'line type selector' field to the left of the line and selecting Forward Order Line from the menu, as described in Sales Orders: Adding Forward Order Lines.

Alternatively, this User Permission may be switched off, so that Product lines entered by the User on the Sales Order will default to being Forward lines (if the Add Forward Order Lines permission - see above - is enabled). See Sales Orders: Adding Forward Order Lines.

Part Allocate Default

Enabling this User Permission means the User can use the Part Allocate Forward Order Lines check box in the Forward Order Stock Allocation process. When there is insufficient stock of a line to allocate the required quantity, if Part Allocate Forward Order Lines is checked, on completion of the process the system will allocate the existing stock to the line and place the balance on back order.

View

Enabling this User Permission means the User may view the Forward Order lines Finder.

Enabling User Permissions

User Permissions are enabled or disabled for a User via the Role they have been assigned - see Creating Roles.

User Permissions may be switched on or off for the current session only by selecting Tools > User Permissions from the Toolbar - Main Menu to display the Edit User Session Permissions Window (requires supervisor permissions). Check the boxes to allow permissions to the relevant application functions, then click OK. The procedure is similar to that used when Creating Roles.

Note: Newly-created User Permissions are typically not set for a User when upgrading to a new release of Quantum VS.
