Product Line Right-Click Options

Right-clicking on a Product line in an open document gives you access to some useful options:

Copying And Pasting A Product

You may copy a Product line from any open document (e.g. Sales Order; Quote) and paste it into another open document, or even the same document. To do this:

1.      Right-click on the Product you wish to copy, then select Copy Product... from the menu.

2.      Click on the document/line you wish to paste the Product details to, then right-click and select Paste Product... from the menu.

3.      The Product is copied to the target document. Continue by entering the Quantity and entering further lines as necessary.

Note: You may use the same method to copy products from the Top Sellers and Customers Also Bought... (Associated Products) areas within the Properties panel. See Auto Add-ons, Top Sellers And Associated Products.

Adding A Product To Another Open Document

You may add single or multiple Product lines from a recalled document (e.g. Sales Order; Quote) to another open document. This method is a useful way of reordering items a Customer has previously ordered, or been quoted for. To do this:

1.      Recall the document which contains the Product lines you wish to add, and ensure you have opened a document you wish to add the Product lines to.

2.      Select the Product line(s) you wish to add. You may multi-select lines using your mouse, or by clicking Shift + 'arrow key'.

3.      Right-click on the selected line(s) and select Add Product ... To ... (e.g. Add Product BBON0028 to Sales Order 1171650).

4.      The Products are added to the target document. Continue by entering the Quantity and entering further lines as necessary.

Adding A Line To Another Open Document

You may add single or multiple lines - Product and other line types - from a recalled document (e.g. Sales Order; Quote) to another open document. This method is a useful way of copying lines from an existing document, including quantities, per values etc. To do this:

1.      Recall the document which contains the lines you wish to add, and ensure you have opened a document you wish to add the lines to.

2.      Select the line(s) you wish to add. You may multi-select lines using your mouse, or by clicking Shift + 'arrow key'.

3.      Right-click on the selected line(s) and select Add Line ... To ... (e.g. Add ... to Sales Order 1171650).

4.      The lines are added to the target document. Unlike the Add Product option (above), this option adds/copies all of the line details - including Quantity, Per value etc., although you may edit these if you wish.

Viewing Product Details

You may view Product details in a separate tab. To do this, right-click on the Product, then select View Details from the menu. The Product record opens - see Viewing A Product Record.

Inserting A Line

This option enables you to create a new line (i.e. a Product, Text, Manual or Special line) above a selected line on the sales document. This might be useful if you wish to add a Text line above a Product to provide information, for example. To do this, right-click on the line, then select Insert Line Above from the menu. You may then create a Product, Text, Manual or Special line using the usual method.

Note: The Insert Line Above option may be used with any line type (i.e. a Product, Text, Manual or Special line). The other options, however, may only be used with Product lines.
