Quantum VS has various optional facilities for 'recommending' Products at the line-entry stage to prompt sales staff and potentially generate additional sales.
Providing these facilities have been set up, some or all of the following may be displayed when a Product is added to a sales document (see Entering Product Line Details):
Auto Add-ons: the Auto Add Ons window pops up, listing additional and alternative Products the Customer may wish to buy.
Top Sellers: a list of 5 'Top Sellers' from the same Product Group is displayed in the Properties panel. See Adding Top Sellers And Associated Products To A Sales Document.
Associated Products (Customers also bought...): a list of 5 'Associated Products' (i.e. 'people who bought this product also bought...') is displayed in the Properties panel. See Adding Top Sellers And Associated Products To A Sales Document.
An Auto Add-Ons record is a record, linked to an existing Product, containing:
additional complementary Products the Customer may wish to purchase; and/or
alternative Products the Customer may wish to purchase; and/or
additional Text lines - if required.
When an Auto Add-On record has been created for a Product, the Auto Add Ons window displays when that Product is added to a sales document (Sales Order, Sales Enquiry, Quote, Sales Contract or Credit Note). This displays the defined 'Auto Add-On' products, plus additional text lines, which the sales person may optionally add to the sales document based on the Customer's requirements. Auto Add-Ons must be defined manually for an individual Product by the System Administrator. To define Auto Add-Ons for a Product see Setting Up Auto Add-Ons.
For example, say you sell a Product called 'Candy White Ceramic Tiles'. You might also sell various additional and alternative Products which could be recommended to buyers of this Product, such as Candy White Tile Strip, Candy White Tile Inserts, other types of tile, and so on. Therefore, the System Administrator might set up Auto Add Ons for 'Candy White Ceramic Tiles so that, when this Product is added to a sales document, the Auto Add Ons window pops up, listing the other products. Essentially, Auto Add-Ons act as an aid to the sales person, so that they know which other Products to recommend/suggest when a Customer buys/orders a Product.
'Top Sellers' is a Product list which displays in the Properties: Product Panel when a sales document is open.
When a Product is added to a sales document, a list of the five best-selling items in the same Product Group displays in the Top Sellers list, acting as a sales prompt. As with 'Associated Products' below, this acts as a list of product recommendations based on past sales. See Adding Top Sellers And Associated Products To A Sales Document.
The 'Top Sellers' list is generated by running a system process. See Setting Up Top Sellers.
'Associated Products' is a Product list which displays in the Properties: Product Panel below the text 'Customers also bought...' when a sales document is open.

The 'Associated (or Customers also bought...) Products list is generated by running a system process. See Setting Up Associated Products.
Note: To display Top Sellers and/or Associated Products, make sure Show Top Sellers and/or Show Associated Products is selected in the Switch Services On/Off menu on the Toolbar - Sub Menu when a sales document is open.
