Bulk Bar Coded Products

The Bulk Bar Coded Products process automatically checks the Bar Code Stock Take field on product records (Stock tab), providing the product has a valid EAN Code. This enables stock take quantities to be entered via a hand held Bar Code reader.

To run the Bulk Bar Coded Products process:

1. Either:

From the Home tab: under links, select Processes.

Or: From the Toolbar - Main Menu: select Tools > Show Processes.
OR: Click the appropriate module on the Mega Menu then - under processes - select the required Process.

The Processes record opens in a new tab, listing all Processes by Name and Category.

2. Use your mouse or [Tab] key to select the Bulk Bar Coded Products process.

3. Enter your criteria by completing the following fields as necessary, using the following as a guide:

Select the Product option to run the process on a range of Products, Section to run the process on a range of Section / Order codes, or Count Group to run the process on a range of Count Groups.

From / To

If the process is in Product sequence:

If you enter nothing in the From / To fields, the report will be run on your whole Product list.
To limit the report to a certain range of products, enter the Product Codes of the first and last products in the sequence in the From and To fields.

Note: A Product Code is a unique code comprising up to eleven characters. For example: 0502GRA0005. Product Codes are entered on the Product Code field of the Product record (Main tab). For further details see Defining Product Codes And Descriptions.

If the process is in Section sequence:

If you enter nothing in the From / To fields, the report will be run on your whole Section list.
If you wish to limit the report to a certain range of sections, enter the codes of the first and last sections in the sequence in the From and To fields as appropriate.

Note: The section code represents a sequence of up to ten alphanumeric characters or spaces (e.g. PAINT00001). The first five characters represent the Section Name, which is entered on the Section Name field of the Product record (Main tab). The following five characters represent the Section Order Code which is entered on the Section Order Code field of the Product record (Main tab). If either is fewer than five characters in length, enter a space for each missing character.

If the process is in Count Group sequence:

If you enter nothing in the From / To fields, the report will be run on your whole Count Group list.
If you wish to limit the report to a certain range of count groups, enter the codes of the first and last count groups in the sequence in the From and To fields as appropriate.

Note: A Stock Count Group is a number between 1 and 9999. This code is assigned to a product or group of products for stock taking purposes, via the Stock tab of the product record.

Making no selection means the process will be run against all Products / Sections / Count Groups.

Bar Code Entry On

If you check this field the process will automatically check the Bar Code Stock Take field on the product record (Stock tab), providing the Product has a valid EAN Code.

4. Click Start on the Toolbar - Sub Menu to begin running the process.

5. When the process has finished running, a Status message will be shown. Click OK to close this message. You may now close the Processes tab if you wish.
