Adding Sheet Material Products To Sales Documents

A Sheet product is a Timber product stocked in sheet pieces or in another unit of measure appropriate to sheet products (e.g. square metres).

Note: Sheet Products are created in Product Maintenance. See Creating Timber, Sheet And Pack Products.

To add a Sheet Product to a sales document (Sales Order, Quote, Sales Enquiry, Sales Contract or Credit Note), follow the standard procedure for adding Product lines.

When you add a Sheet Product code to a sales document the Sheet Entry window is displayed, in which you must enter the quantity of sheet materials the customer requires. For example:

The Sheet Entry window has the following tabs:

Entering Sheet Quantities

The Sheet tab allows you to enter a quantity and then select by the sheet, m2 or 10m2 (or an alternative size value if available).

In the Quantity field, enter the quantity required, then select the unit of measure in the field below.

For example, you might enter 12 in the Quantity field and then select one of the following:

If you select any unit of measure other than Sheet (e.g. m2, 10m2 etc.), the Sheets field is displayed (as in the above example). This displays the number of sheets required to fulfil the order (or quote etc.).

Note: Click Re-calculate to display the number of sheets required.

In the example above we have specified that we require 12 square metres. Since each sheet of this product is one square metre (i.e. 2440mm x 1220mm, as shown by the Size 1 and 2 fields) the Sheets field shows that 4.031 sheets will be ordered.

Other Sheet Product Options

If the Size 1 and Size 2 fields are enabled you may enter sizes for this sheet product.

If Treatments are available for this sheet product you may check a field to specify the treatment required.

Note: Timber treatments are configured by the System Administrator. For details see Treatments Maintenance.

A summary of the timber sheet material entry, showing gross and unit prices, discounts and quantities, may be displayed by clicking the Re-calculate button.

After Entering Sheet Quantities And Options

When you have finished entering sheet product quantities and options in the Sheet tab, click the OK button to close the Sheet Entry window and add the sheet item to the sales document (Sales Order, Quote, Sales Enquiry, Sales Contract or Credit Note).

Editing The Sheet Product Line

Once the sheet product line has been added to the sales document, a hyperlink is available from the Quantity:

Click the Quantity link to open the Sheet Entry window and review/amend sheet product quantities and options.
