Recording User Defined Details For A Sales Order

When recording User Defined details for a Sales Order, note that the method is slightly different depending on whether you are adding User Defined details to a new Sales Order or editing/deleting User Defined details on an existing Sales Order.

Recording User Defined Details For A New Sales Order

To add User Defined details on a new Sales Order:

 

1.      Create a new Sales Order.

 

2.      Enter details in the Sales Order header fields as required - see Completing The Sales Order Header Fields - then tab through to the lines area.

 

3.      Select the User Defined Fields tab within the Sales Order:

Note: The User Defined Fields tab displays only after you have entered header details and tabbed through to the lines area.

 

4.      In the User Defined Fields tab, record details for the current Sales Order:

Note: Sales Order User Defined Fields are defined in User Defined Data Maintenance. See Creating User Defined Fields. Only fields for which the 'Show In User Defined Section' option was selected will display.

 

5.      When you have finished, add Product lines and Complete the Sales Order.

Details will display within the Sales Order-related User Defined Fields within qualifying documents. See Viewing User Defined Details For A Sales Order.

Editing User Defined Details For An Existing Sales Order

To add, edit or remove User Defined details for an existing Sales Order:

 

1.      Open the required Sales Order. See Finding Sales Orders.

 

2.      Select Amend on the Toolbar - Sub Menu to make the Sales Order amendable.

 

3.      Select the User Defined Fields tab within the Sales Order:

Note: The User Defined Fields tab displays only after you have entered header details and tabbed through to the lines area.

 

4.      In the available fields, edit/record details for the current Sales Order - see step 4 above.

 

5.      When you have finished, Complete the Sales Order.
