IBTs: Allocating The Goods

In this stage of the IBT procedure the Issue Branch (the branch which has the goods in stock) will allocate stock to the new or previously-created IBT.

The IBT goods are then picked and any 'picking' variance recorded. On Completing this stage a Picking Note is printed at the Issue Branch.

Note: See Inter Branch Transfers for an overview of the full IBT procedure.

The Allocation stage has two possible scenarios:

(1) The Issue Branch will retrieve the IBT Request created by the Request/Receiving Branch, edit details if necessary and then Complete and print the IBT Allocation to generate an IBT Picking Note. See:

Alternatively:

(2) The Issue Branch may create an IBT Allocation to transfer goods to the Request/Receiving Branch without that branch having to formally request the goods first. This involves creating an IBT Allocation, entering header and line details, and then Completing and printing the IBT Allocation to generate an IBT Picking Note. See Creating And Completing An IBT Allocation.

Viewing And Editing The Batch Allocation Of A Product Line

If a product line on the IBT is 'batch traceable', the user at the Issuing Branch may view and edit the Batch/Bin/Serial Number allocation for the line at the Allocation stage (and also at the Despatch stage) by clicking Shift + [F4] on the product line. For further guidance see Viewing And Editing IBT Batch Allocations.

Note: A product is 'batch traceable' if 'Batch Reference', 'Multi-Bin' or 'Serial Number' is selected in the Batch Bin Serial Flag field in the Issues & Stock tab of the Product record. For further details see Product Batch Traceability Maintenance.

When you are happy with the details of the IBT you may Complete and Print the IBT Allocation to generate a Picking Note. See Completing And Printing The IBT Allocation.
