User Permissions may be switched on or off for the current session only by selecting Tools > User Permissions from the Toolbar - Main Menu to display the Edit User Session Permissions Window (requires supervisor permissions). Check the boxes to allow permissions to the relevant application functions, then click OK. The procedure is similar to that used when Creating Roles.

Note: Newly-created User Permissions are typically not set for a User when upgrading to a new release of Quantum VS.

Creating Certificates Of Conformity

For each Certificate Of Conformity you intend to print you will need to create and save a Certificate Of Conformity record which holds the certificate's key, description and text. See Creating A Certificate Of Conformity Record.

Defining A Default Certificate Of Conformity For A Customer/Customer Site

The Default Conformity Certificate field in a Customer and Customer Site record enables you to set up a default Certificate Of Conformity for a Customer or Customer Site. See:

The selected option will be the default displayed in the Cert Of Conformity field in the Sales Order header. When choosing which Certificate Of Conformity will be printed for the current order, the Sales Clerk may accept the default or select an alternative. See Example: Selecting And Printing A Certificate Of Conformity For A Sales Order.

Certificate Of Conformity Print Options

If Certificates Of Conformity have been configured for your system (see above) and are enabled for the current Customer/Customer Site, the document is printed automatically when the order's Despatch Note is Printed.

Default Certificate Of Conformity Print Options

The default output method and Customer Contact is the one defined for the document type 'Certificate Of Conformity' in the Document Defaults Tab for this Customer. If no Document default is specified, the default 'print' destination is the default specified for the document type 'Certificate Of Conformity' in your User record > IO Control Fields tab.

Notes: (1) You may use Print Groups to view, print and email/fax any document saved to Disk (i.e. to the Linux Host Server). (2) Many Quantum VS document types and Reports are output as XML files which the system automatically converts into 'formatted' PDF files which may be printed via a printer, sent by email, faxed, saved to disk or sent via the Quantum VS XML Highway. See Setting Up XML To PDF Document Printing.

Manually Selecting Alternative Print Options (Reprint)

You may manually print - or reprint - a Certificate Of Conformity. This will override any defaults for this document only. To do this:

1.      When the Despatch Note is open, select Reprint from the Toolbar - Sub Menu.

2.      The Print Option Window displays print options for Certificate Of Conformity. Select options as required and click Print. For further details see Printing A Despatch Note Manually.
