Quantum VS Help: File Maintenance |
Once a Product Inventory record has been created - either at 'goods in' or using the Add Product Inventory Stock feature in the product record - the goods are 'batch traceable' and may be tracked through their batch number, serial number and/or bin location.
To find and open a Product Inventory record do one of the following:
Use the Finder to list and open the required Product Inventory record. See Finding Product Inventory Records. Or:
Open the Product Inventory record from the Inventory History tab of the Product record. See Inventory History Tab: Viewing Product Batch Details. Or:
Retrieve the GRN - see Finding Goods Received Notes - and click the View Batches link in the Receipt Details column on the GRN line. See Reviewing Batch Allocations (Confirmed GRNs).
Each Product Inventory record shows the batch reference, bin number or serial number, the product, and other related details. The Tracking tab lists all documents on which the goods associated with this Product Inventory (i.e. batch/bin/serial number) record can be located. See Viewing Product Inventory Records.
When the Product Inventory record is open you may:
Edit its details, including Cost Price and Status (e.g. to make stock held for inspection available again). See Editing A Product Inventory Record.
Adjust the stock balance of a Product Inventory record to ensure that the stock figures recorded on Quantum VS match the actual physical stock in your warehouse/shop/office. See Product Inventory Records: Adjusting Stock Balances.
Transfer a quantity of Product Inventory stock from the current bin location to one or more alternative bins. See Product Inventory Records: Transferring Bin Location.
Reject a quantity of Product Inventory stock and append the items to a Supplier Return Note if required. See Product Inventory Records: Rejecting Stock.
Details of any stock adjustments - including the User who made them - can be viewed in the Tracking Tab of the associated Product Inventory record.
Note: The Batch Bin Discrepancies report can be used to fix, or simply report on, discrepancies between the stock balances on the Batch Stock record and the stock balances on the Product record, for all products flagged for batch traceability.
When batch traceable goods are sold and invoiced this is reflected in the product's Product Inventory records, which can be viewed using the methods described above.
You may view details of batches which have been sold (and invoiced) to a particular customer in the Invoiced Batches tab of the Customer record.
